The Queen's Knights

Several orders of the Queen's Knights serve Eleanor Sunblade and the kingdom of Elustra.

The Queen's Knights

The Queen is served by several different knightly orders, known as the Queen’s Knights. These orders were originally established by Queen Sunblade well before she took up the crown of Elustra, and their purpose is to make the world a better place for all. Each knightly order chooses a crest that is reflected upon their tabards and shields. Each crest has a meaning that gives the ladies of its order purpose. These knightly orders include the Order of the Unicorn, the Order of the Bee, and the Order of the Shooting Star, but there are many more than that.

Members of the Queen’s Knights are taken from all levels of society, from that of the nobility to that of the common man and all others in between. To join a knightly order is a simple matter, but upholding the Queen’s Law and serving the common good are oftentimes a bit more complicated. The bonds of the knightly orders are such that each member is a sister to all other members, regardless of their race, where they come from, and which particular order they belong to.

The Queen's Law

All members of these knightly orders swear a vow when they join, and each strives to uphold this promise as well as they can. In fact, this oath forms the core of the Queen’s Law, which is:
By Queen Sunblade, I swear to be
Honest and fair,
Friendly and helpful,
Considerate and caring,
Courageous and strong, and
Responsible for what I say and do, and to
Respect myself and others,
Respect authority,
Use resources wisely,
Make the world a better place, and
Be faithful to my sister knights.
Each year, the knightly orders gather in Twombly to celebrate their victories. These great convocations are a time of joy and pride, where new members are recruited and old ones are recognized for their contributions. The streets of Twombly are decorated with flowers and knightly crests during this celebration, and every citizen participates in their own way.

Other Knightly Orders

Though the majority of the Queen’s Knights are ladies, a small handful of lords have taken their place within the orders, as well. The majority of men choose to join their own organizations, and in times of great trouble they align with the Queen’s Knights to subdue powerful foes.
